Vocational Assessment
Chosing a career pathway when you leave school may be a confusing time. There are a bewildering number of opportunities available.
Where to start? What kind of job will really suit you?
A vocational assessment is a process that allows you get to know yourself better. A number of options that are uniquely suited to you are suggested.
In the ideal world, everybody would have an assessment like this. With this sort of information you are much more likely to embark on a pathway that works for you, rather than losing time, money and self esteem on false starts.
Even if you have a clear idea about what you want to do, knowing that you have other options increases your confidence in yourself.
The assessment is based on the four pillars of abilities, interests, personality and values. Using well known, valid and reliable questionnaires, and an in-depth interview, we will explore your preferences with you and help you to translate these into a workable action plan. This may be suggested university courses, TAFE courses, private courses, job seeking strategies, or whatever else is appropriate.
The Process
A four hour face to face session, which involves an interview and the administration of a number of self report inventories and ability tests. Feedback is given throughout the assessment. A detailed report is then prepared, and a follow up session with the student and parents is arranged.
